For most of Wake County public school attendees, back to school is upon us (or soon to be), which means it’s time to buy school supplies! School supply shopping can be fun for some, but it can also be quite a drag, especially if you are not sure what you need to buy and where to buy it.
Don’t fret! We’ve put together a quick resource guide for you to follow to ease your school supply shopping experience.
- Visit the Wake County Public School System website and in the top left corner of the home page click “View Our Schools” to access the entire list of schools (schools are broken down into categories: Elementary, Middle, High and Special / Optional). Click on the tab you want to search within and then select the school you attend. You will be taken to the homepage of the selected school where you will find a link to access the school supply lists.
- Print your list and you’re ready to shop! Some retailers we recommend for school supply shopping include Amazon, Walmart, Target, Staples, Office Depot, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Five Below and Lidl.
- Looking to save time? If you have access to a computer, you can order online for home delivery or in store pick up at Walmart, Target, Staples and Office Depot. And of course Amazon can ship it to you within 2 days if you have Prime! Be sure to keep your delivery needs in mind and pay close attention to in store pick up dates when online shopping, as not all retailers offer same day pick up for online orders.
- Follow retailer pages on social media and/or subscribe to retailer mail lists to keep up with sales on school supplies.
